A few hearings next week might spark some interest. Assembly Health will be taking up Assemblyman David Chiu's timely AB 463, the Pharmaceutical Cost Transparency Act, which would require drug companies to reveal operational costs in order to better understand pricing for ultra-high-priced drugs.
In Senate Health, Senator Joel Anderson will be pushing for more privacy rights related to Covered California and release of personal information to agents in SB 514. In addition, at a Public Safety Committee hearing, Assemblyman Luis Alejo will be working on enhancing the public's rights in dealing with criminal forfeiture proceedings in AB 595.
