Hysterical over attempts this summer by lawmakers to combat climate change, Big Oil ominously described the state’s Air Resources Board as akin to the Galactic Imperial Senate in Star Wars, a villainous agency that would take over the world.

The Los Angeles Times’ editorial this week on the urgency of cleaning up Exide’s swath of contamination asks a legitimate question: Why hasn’t California launched an independent investigation into what went so wrong at the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) and other agencies that hazardous waste levels of lead are threatening hundreds of East Los Angeles residents, especially children?

The Board says that its website's licensing portal is adequate, but patient-safety advocates say that a doctor should tell their patients if they are on probation.

It doesn’t look like it from the release of yet another bunch of emails about the San Onofre nuclear power plant’s decommissioning.
